Ok so I have had problems with my 06 plate Focus diesel for a while now. After several mysterious limps home on longish journeys, and each time the garage not finding anything that they thought was a problem, something weird happened. I broke down. MySon's 05 TDi 1.6 Focus engine just stopped the other day, towed it to a mate's garage and he put the OBDII reader on it and says its the EGR valve - he also said the solenoid coil is open.
